London is the official capital city of both the United Kingdom and England. The city is also currently ranked as the largest urban zone within the entire European Union. With regard to the growing Jewish population in the city, it is approximately two percent, or roughly 150,000 people. That figure is only for the direct city itself, it does not include the greater urban or metro areas, where the figure would be quite a bit higher. With regard to London's vibrant female Jewish population, it is approximately 80,000 inhabitants. These figures that I'm quoting are taken from official sources, and they're likely to be quite fresh. Jews have been in England and London since the times of the Norman Conquest, which dates back to 1066. Jews have indeed suffered from persecution at various times throughout English history, however today they enjoy a very peaceful existence, holding many highly prestigious positions within all ranks and institutions of British society and politics.
